How do I fundraise?

As a registered player, you will receive your own fundraising page via email. Share the link with family and friends, and encourage them to give to your fundraiser. For more information on fundraising, reference our Fundraising Page.

Do I have to fundraise in order to shoot free throws?

We ask that each of our players either personally fundraise OR make a one-time donation in order to shoot free throws at the day-of event. If you would prefer not to fundraise, a one-time donation (of any amount) will allow you to join the Dream Shot competition on April 13th. All are welcome to attend the event and watch the competition for free.

Why Dream Shot?
Co-founder and pastor of the Dream Center, Matthew Barnett is no stranger to extreme sport challenges! Over the years, he has participated in the World Marathon Challenge, LA Marathon, and the first Dream Shot 12 years ago to raise awareness and donations for Dream Center programs. In honor of the Dream Center’s 25th year of serving the community, Matthew Barnett is bringing back the Dream Shot challenge to address today’s serious homelessness crisis.
How do I involve my friends and family?
Encourage your friends and family to register as players at dreamshot.org, send them your fundraising page link to help support the cause, or bring them to cheer you on at the day-of event!
How long is the event?

The Dream Shot event will start with an opening ceremony on Friday, April 12th, at 5 p.m. , and Pastor Matthew will begin the 52,000 free throw challenge, continuing through the night. All are invited to attend the opening ceremony. Registered players will join Pastor Matthew on Saturday, April 13th, in shooting free throws during their designated time slot. The Dream Shot event will end with a closing ceremony at 5 p.m. Stay tuned for the full program of events and activities coming soon.

Do I have to attend the Dream Shot event on April 13th to help fundraise?
No! We would love for you to help raise awareness of our cause and support Dream Center programs, even if you can’t make the day-of event. You can still register as a player to receive your own fundraising page, (and free Dream Shot t-shirt), and help raise funds for Dream Center programs!
What other causes does the Dream Center address?

Each of our programs addresses the root causes of homelessness in order to enable immediate and long-term transformation. Our daily outreach programs provide food, clothing, and other basic items to the homeless, while our residential programs additionally provide housing, education, counseling, community support and more to encourage complete transformation. Please visit our website for more information about our programs.
